Will Web Crossing Work with Appleshare IP X.X? |
Answer |
Web Crossing will work with any Mac web server that supports the standard 'sdoc' AppleEvent for CGI. When you install Web Crossing you must correctly locate a CGI-enabled folder of your web server for correct placement of the alias to the Web Crossing application. If Web Crossing returns illegible text when you first access it the problem is that your web server isn't configured to execute a CGI application that doesn't have a name suffix of ".cgi". You can either rename both Web Crossing and the alias to "WebX.cgi" or reconfigure the web server.
Note: with version 3.1+, we have converted from MacTCP to Open Transport. We recommend Mac servers run OT 1.2 or later, although WebX does work with OT 1.1.2. |
