What does "Error 431" mean?

On WindowsNT "Error 431" occasionally happens when attempting to install Web Crossing.

Answer

Error 431 is "service already installed". This happens when the user has run the installer twice and is unwittingly attempting to install a new service at the same location as one that is already installed. To install a new version of Web Crossing, the existing service must be first stopped and uninstalled With the Web Crossing Configuration dialog.
