How do I use fanout servers?

Answer:

To have the fanout servers, each fanout must be a completely different process, self contained in it's own right. This is most easily done by using multiple IP addresses on the same box or separate boxes completely.

If you have a separate instance of WebCrossing running, you could assign different ports to make it a fanout server on the same machine and create a separate virtual directory for your web server and a different name for the cgi program.
